Fundraising Lessons Learned from the 2008 Presidential Race!

Proven strategies you can adopt in your annual giving campaigns.

Online fundraising has come a long way!

The Presidential campaign in 2004 showed the importance of the Internet to engage and involve supporters when Howard Dean stunned opponents by raising 27 million dollars online.   The Tsunami in December of 2004 and Katrina Hurricane in 2005 showed the generosity and willingness of people worldwide to contribute online.

And just last month Barack Obama’s Presidential campaign raised a record $150 million dollars from 632,000 supporters.   Online contribution has truly come of age!  While direct mail and the telephone has been effective for you in the past, the lessons learned from these events is that your contributors are willing to be engaged and contribute online with their credit card!

Join us for a very timely Webinar to learn how John McCain and Barack Obama’s campaigns used the Internet to find new supporters, convert them to contributors and continue to go back to them asking for additional contributions.

You will gain a better understanding on how to:

  1.  Learn what your contributors are passionate about and willing to support
  2.  Get multiple contributions from your contributors throughout the year
  3.  Create a sense of urgency and need in your emails
  4.  How to get contributors to create a short video of why they gave and put it on your YouTube channel
  5.  How to create a multiple email campaign to increase contributions
  6.  Techniques to use celebrity, famous alumni, the administration to gain credibility
  7.  How to use twitter and other social media tools to recognize contributors
  8.  Get volunteers to make calls from their homes using your database
  9.  How your contributors can challenge their friends on Facebook and other social networking sites

You will see how John McCain’s website was designed to capture data about contributors, plus encourage them to volunteer in areas they were interested in.  You can take this information and use it to modify how you engage contributors on your websites.

You will also see a full series of emails sent by the Obama campaign, asking for:

     • Donations
     • Volunteers
     • Participation in events

Let’s face it!  In today’s TOUGH economic climate it’s going to get tougher and tougher to raise money.  It only makes sense to adopt new strategies and new approaches that are already proven

By attending this Webinar you will pick up numerous ideas you can adopt immediately in your fundraising efforts.  You will find many ideas including the use of free social media tools, that will put the “fun” back into your fundraising campaigns again.
