Twitter

Twitter Your Way to Contributions!

New online engagement tool is effective way to find new contributors and get your message out!

Sometimes an idea or technology comes along that is so simple; no one understands the value or benefit of it.    For us, Twitter is one of those technologies.

We have to admit at first, when we first learned about Twitter, our reaction was negative, however as the concept started growing, we are learning that micro blogging has powerful long term benefits for organizations like yours.

Twitter is a FREE online micro blogging site where you can follow others and they can follow you.  Twitter provides you only 140 characters to tell your story, but gives you access to everyone, instantly.  You will find people talking about what they are cooking for breakfast, sharing research information and good books, updates on their blogs and organizations they think deserve support or should be engaged with.

For fundraisers, it’s another tool in your emerging social media tool chest to tell your story, build your brand and increase stewardship among supporters.

Join us to learn how you can use Twitter to:

      1)  Reach new contributors
      2)  Give recognition to your contributors
      3)   Share your needs
      4)   Increase stewardship

This is one of the first Workshops we’ve offered.  If you haven’t signed up to Twitter before the Workshop, we’ll get you started right away.  We’ll show you how to reach out to others and add them to your list, you’ll learn how to find the kind of people you want to follow, how to respond to others and not the entire group and we’ll share with you new emerging add on tools that will make you more effective and reach a wider audience.

Plus we’ll show you the viral nature of Twitter.

You’ll learn how, even with 100 people following you, your message could reach 10,000 people in just seconds.  It’s probably the most effective new social media tools to communicate through since email.  You’ll learn how to encourage your supporters to “retweek” your tweeks to get your message out to tens of thousands.

Keep in mind this is a Workshop, so participation is limited.  We want you to come prepared, and sign up for Twitter prior to the Workshop.  As soon as you sign up add Marc Pitman - @marcapitman and you can start Twittering with him!   During the workshop, you’ll get hands on experience at Tweeting others and you’ll leave more confident on how you can use this tool.   No experience is necessary and you don’t need an IT person to get you started.  We’ll have you up and running by the end of the Workshop, OR we won’t leave until we do!

We think you’ll have a lot of fun with this tool and the good news, you can get started in just a few minutes. You can try to figure this out on your own, but by attending this Workshop we’ll give you the tools, the knowledge and provide the examples on how you can use Twitter in your business and personal life.

Any questions?  Just Twitter us and we’ll get right back to you:
