A recent CareerBuilder survey of 2,600 hiring managers showed that 45% are utilizing social networking sites to learn more about the people they are interviewing. That’s a whopping 22% jump over last year!
Employers, for better or worse, are hip to social media and are using it to find candidates that not only have the right credentials, but the right behavior and personality that will fit into their culture.
Your students need to be aware of this and brought up to speed on how they can take advantage of this new trend. With the right guidance and information, your graduates will be able to use Facebook and Linkedin as a valuable job search and career management tool.
