MySpace & Facebook “official” Alumni Pages

Should you set up an “official” alumni website on MySpace and Facebook?

MySpace is currently reaching 130 million users or 32 percent of Americans on the Internet. Facebook with 13,000,000 users reports nearly 83 percent of your students spend an average of 20 minutes a day on their site. And you need to keep in mind, after your students graduate, they continue using both Facebook and MySpace.

So how is your alumni association going to connect with current students and alumni registered on these sites?

Consider setting up an “official” alumni group page on MySpace and Facebook

A number of your colleagues are already developing “official” pages on these sites to connect with alumni/students and drive them to the alumni website. These sites enable your institution to build an affinity group and drive them via links to your alumni website, online directory, events calendar etc. Does it make sense to do this?

And if you did, where do you start?

By viewing this 60 minute online workshop on, you will:

  1. Learn the pros and cons of setting up an“official” alumni page on MySpace & Facebook
  2. Learn why others are doing it
  3. See examples of “official” alumni sites on MySpace & Facebook

This is a practical workshop that will give you the:

  • Information
  • Tools

and an understanding on how you can create your own "official" MySpace and Facebook alumni pages.

Recent webinars that analyzed the MySpace & Facebook issue had over 800 attendees. We expect this workshop to fill up fast!

Testimonials -

"The IAC Webinar did a marvelous job presenting the opportunity that MySpace offers for reaching out to our alumni and making stronger connections. We now realize what a useful tool MySpace can be and the value of embracing (rather than fighting) this new social networking.

I have attended a few of the webinar's presented by IAC and the recent one on “Facebook & MySpace Strategy” was very informative.
